 BEGGAR DOG BISCUIT STILL SAFE FOR DOGS

BEGGAR DOG BISCUITS are NOT on any recall list.  Our biscuits continue to be all natural products.  We have no additives, preservatives, artificial flavorings or coloring. 

Beggar Dog Biscuits Inc. (BDI) products do not contain WHEAT GLUTEN, RICE GLUTEN or RICE PROTEIN.  They never have and never will.  Beggar Dog Biscuits DOES NOT HAVE any melamine in them. 

The industry as a whole (and rightfully so) has come under fire recently due to the importing of tainted wheat and rice glutens and proteins from China.  It is suspected that the Chinese supplier added melamine to the gluten to raise the protein levels.  Many U.S. manufacturers have fallen victim to this tainted product. The FDA has found evidence of contaminated glutens in both rice and wheat of some of the nations largest co-packers. It is our understanding that once manufacturers learned of the melamine contamination, they discontinued the use of rice and wheat proteins.

BDI has used co-packaging services for more than 10 years because of the co-packer’s ability to produce the volumes needed for distribution.

Fortunately BDI has never experienced a contamination problem and still does not. 

As with all horrific and catastrophic events, things will be learned, unfortunately the expense has been very, very high… the health and well being of the four-legged members of our family.  BDI is confident that from this event, better controls and regulations will be implemented in the importing of all consumable products for both our pets and ourselves.

Our hearts at Beggar Dog Biscuits Inc. truly go out to those who have lost members of their families, because that is in truth what our animals are to us.
